  Ballet

The school accepts children from the age of two and a half years. At this age ballet is taught.  Miss Rafferty teaches the brand new RAD Pre-Primary in Dance & Primary in Dance syllabi. This provides a strong foundation for future dance training, whilst being fun this develops children's physical skills, stamina, creativity, and expression and musicality using a range of sounds and musical styles.

Studies have shown that children who take ballet at this age show improved co-ordination, deportment, self-awareness and confidence.

Tap

Tap is a very popular form of dance, especially following the success of Stomp and Tap Dogs.  It is all about rhythm, timing and co-ordination.  It is a fun, energetic and very expressive form of dance.

Modern

Modern classes are very popular with all students and the dance style now makes up the greatest percentage of commercial dance in television and show business.

Both RAD and ISTD exams are accredited by the Government and form part of their National Framework of Qualifications.
Although our main objective is of enjoyment and fun, children who demonstrate a desire and talent to pursue a professional dance career are identified and supported accordingly.

The dance studio is solely used by Allsteps Dance Academy, and has two dance studios.  The studio flooring is designed by Harlequin, recognised as world leaders in advanced technology flooring for dance.  It also features fixed barres and mirrors.  Other facilities include a changing area and toilets.  Free parking is available at Bream Road car park, which is situated at the rear of Lydney library.
