Lisa Bishop (née Rafferty) started her dance training at the age of three with the Elizabeth Corney School of Dance, which was to become Allsteps Dance Academy as it is today.  At this young age she realised she was passionate about dance. It was here that she passed all her early exams, gaining distinctions throughout, and won a dance scholarship.

Her potential was recognised, and at the age of ten she auditioned and was selected to study at the world renowned Royal Ballet School, Richmond Park, London.

Lisa then went on to further her dance training at Bush Davies Theatre School, a premier school for the arts. She was to complete her dance training at Ballet Rambert, a school at the forefront of contemporary dance.

Lisa went on to pursue a professional dance career working with many leading choreographers in theatre, television and film.

After ten years as a professional dancer and amassing a wealth of experience she decided that her future lay in teaching. To pass on her knowledge to the highest of standards, she set about gaining her teaching qualifications.

She studied with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD), two of the most prestigious and visionary societies.

Dance remains a passion of Lisa’s and she believes it is important to continue to develop her knowledge by attending seminars/courses to keep herself up to date with current teaching techniques.

On a personal note, Lisa is married to Ben and they have two sons.
